Back by popular demand, here’s my trademark easy-to-read guide to Splendour In The Grass sideshows (there are two lies in that sentence). If you’re sick of lists that are arranged alphabetically or that only include ‘official sideshows’, then this is for you: every sideshow announced so far arranged by date so that clashes are obvious and with ticket prices, venues, and support acts all listed.

Bon Iver @ The Sydney Opera House, 11th And 12th Of March
The most remarkable thing about Bon Iver and Justin Vernon in particular is how they have grown so much as a band and as a person respectively but yet have maintained their identity; how they have kept the essence of what made their early music so very special and imprinted it into everything they do, whether that be their sophomore album or playing at the Sydney Opera House in front of thousands of people with a ten-piece band. My 10 Favourite Gigs Of 2011
Musically speaking, I think my entire prior life had just been a warmup for this year. With only a few exceptions, you could pretty much name this list the ‘Best Gigs Of My Life’ and it would still be accurate. Many of these gigs have given me moments and memories that will stay with me forever, and more than anything they demonstrated just how powerful, important, and magical music can be.

The Top 20 Songs Of 2011
Long-winded generic text about how it’s been a good year for music, Australian music in particular. Disclaimer that all lists such as this are inherently subjective and should be treated as opinion rather than fact. Media whore invite to please share this list with as many people as possible and/or to leave you opinion in the comments. Comparison to previous years. Snide joke at Pitchfork’s expense. Okay, that should just about cover it.
